Making the World a Better Place My first step in making the world a better place is the career path I am choosing to take. Before entering college, I had no idea what I wanted to do with my career, but I knew I did not want to sit behind a desk all day as my father is an accountant. What I did want to do is serve a role that can impact others. With this I pondered heavily about the many options I could pursue. That was until a memory popped into my mind which impacted me heavily. When I was about 6 years old, I was treated horribly by a nurse. I was feeling very unwell and I was barely able to move on my own. When the nurse asked me to follow her, I was struggling to move and asked her for assistance. At first, she refused which annoyed me as I was somewhat helpless, which led me to ask again. Where We Dropping Boys? a Fortnite analysis by Collin Abe Feels like just the other day... the first time I saw the celebrated "Victory Royale" pop up on my screen as me and my squad achieved our very first win in Fortnite. For those who are not familiar, Fortnite is a very popular third-person shooter battle-royale structured game, which I will try my best to explain simply. When the game first starts, the map is very large for the 100 player lobby, and players begin on a flying bus, commonly referred to as the "battle bus". Players then jump off the battle bus at a desired time, hoping to reach their desired location on the map. This is where the common phrase "where we dropping?" stems from. As I have been reading this book, The Wayfinders , I could not help but compare my lifestyle to those that Wade Davis was analyzing. Throughout his novel, Davis follows many native tribes such as desert nomads and Polynesian settlers and analyzes their culture and lifestyle. These indigenous groups lack almost all of the modern innovations that many first-world countries are fortunate enough to have and take for granted. As an example, many of these tribes still use primitive forms of navigation by following the stars or their noses. Davis becomes relatively worried about the existence of these tribes’ existence due to their primal habits, however, his biggest concern is the loss of their native language. Language serves as a way to protect and keep culture, and as more nations start developing further, these tribes are becoming increasingly behind and their cultures are becoming increasingly forgotten. The Wayfinders Reasons behind my Book Choice      For my next selection of books, I ultimately decided upon The Wayfinders written by Wade Davis. The book's main slogan is "Why ancient wisdom matters in the modern world". I could not agree more with this statement, which was the biggest selling point of this book for me. Throughout the novel, the author travels to indigenous areas and explores many different cultures in the process. With each culture, Wade gains a new appreciation of not only the cultures, but overall life and seeks to celebrate each culture and their morals.     Before diving into his experiences, Wade opens up his book by discussing the current state of our cultural world, or our ethnosphere.   Who is Fred Again? A biography written by a huge fan On July 19th, 1993, one of the most influential electronic artists of our generation was born. Commonly known by his artist name “Fred Again”, Frederick John Philip Gibson had been involved in the music scene since the age of 16. He started to become more well-known in the music industry through his project titled Actual Life in 2021. This project was very unique as he was not using common music production techniques. Through the use of samples, or audio clips, that he would collect from social media, voicemails, and even nature, Fred was able to create original songs with emotional and upbeat melodies.
